I think we all mostly agree that it wasn't necessary for Hartofsec to bring up Titchou's chapter. That wasn't right. But you know what? Neither was this:

In any other thread, we'd be tripping all over ourselves trying to tell a PNM that we can't explain to her why she was released. Yet here we have an alumna who is making a very specific point of telling a PNM that she did something wrong. Something that is really quite abstract and that there is absolutely no way of knowing from a couple posts on the internet.

It is absolutely possible for a PNM to be given general advice on how to improve her chances for a second recruitment attempt, without digging into the specifics of why she thinks she was released. It's been done on a gazillion other threads. The kind of uninvited criticism above is a bit harsh, especially when it can be phrased in a more generic way without assuming that this PNM had this particular problem.

Thanks for the warning.

I didn't see carnation's post until after I posted my last.

Well, that's why we agreed to do this job, to stop trouble. There are many people around who, for some reason far beyond my ken, like to cause trouble and then sit back and laugh and text each other as all hell breaks loose.

Let's just close the thread for a day or so and then resume later--if anyone has any original insight for SECglitter.
