I don't think it IS ritual, unless all "information for members only" is considered "ritual" by certain orgs. But I think we should respect other organization's right to keep who they choose for AI and how they do it to themselves. We don't go around speculating in the undergraduate recruitment threads about which organizations have which policies about choosing their members- I don't know why we think it's appropriate at the alumnae leve.

(except that I do care: about people being allowed to discuss anything they want to that doesn't violated policy)
If the people making decisions in your organization don't even WANT you discussing this online (because we all know how they luuuuuurve GreekChat), WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO SAY THAT MEMBERS SHOULD BE FREE TO DISCUSS ANYTHING THEY WANT?

Seriously, if you're legit (you still haven't introduced yourself in the Roll Call, btw), just let it go.

Just the basic expectations of free discussion within the rules of TOS and GLO policy as I understand it.

Point out to me where I can find a statement from our organization that backs up your claims about GreekChat or online discussions generally. Your repeating it over and over to me in all caps isn't as convincing as you intend it to be.

You don't need an online statement toots.

I, along with several GCers who've met International Council members at Conventions, TLCs, and the like -- know for a fact that THEY DO NOT LIKE GREEKCHAT.

If you want that to come from the horse's mouth, I'm sure an International Officer contacting you can be arranged.

Or you can start with agd4rie, since she is a chapter sister and all (that is, if you really are a Gamma Alpha).

Sure

Sure, arrange it. That'd be great.
If you know they hate it, why do you post?

I don't post often but please add me to the pro list. This section didn't get out of control, until a group of you decided to turn threads in the train wrecks. Take your personal opinions out of individuals threads and your side topics else where. If you don't like people who are "sorority shopping", then don't initiate them into your specific sorority. If you don't want people contacting your organization directly and want to reserve alumni initiation for the people who are recommended by members, then don't initiate them. I think this forum is and can be useful.

Three was a random number. (Yes it is.. )

I meant, some small number of posts...definitely minus any snark.

I don't think it's backwards. In fact, it can help us see how much interest there is in AI. None of us currently on GC are privy to that information through our HQs, AFAIK. So why not let it be discussed here?

ETA: Oh, and for the record, just because I believe there should be an AI forum does not mean I strongly believe in AI for the masses. In fact, quite the opposite. AI is for the VERY select few.
