Reading "Out of the Blues" by Trudy Nan Boyce. It's a detective novel based in Atlanta.

I'm currently reading two books.
A coworker lent me his copy of Seveneves by Neal Stephenson. I read this book during my commute.
I'm also reading Ilium by Dan Simmons. This is a reread ... I read a few pages before going to sleep.
Next in queue is The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. I have read a bit of it, and I schlepped this thing (hardcover book, 750+ pages) with me on the train for a few days ... and since I don't want to develop scoliosis it's gonna stay home from now on.
Damn, I need a Kindle.

I'm reading The Black Widow by Daniel Silva. It is his latest in the Gabriel Allon series. Love these books.
I'm listening to Janet Evanovich's The Pursuit on my phone while driving or doing my walks. This is the latest in her Fox and Ohare series. If you liked White Collar when it was on TV, you'll love this as they follow the same crazy premise.

I was thinking the last couple of days, why do we read books?
I enjoy reading about other places I have never been and sometimes reminders of places I have traveled luckly.
What we read is a reflection on each of us, I am guessing of course, LOL!
Will be to see any responses from any and all!

I've been a compulsive reader since I taught myself how to read with those easy reader books with the lists of sight words. I love to visualize everything that's happening in the books. I like to read historical fiction (times and places I'll never be able to go to), fantasy, thrillers, and romance, but I'm open to anything that is well-written.
I did find that school was easier for me, because I had often read about things we were learning.
I'm still working on my summer reading list -- the Kate Shugak series by Dana Stabenow. I think I'm on book 13 of 20 published so far. I'm learning a lot about Alaska. She has a great sense of humor, too. Highly recommend.
