Hypothetically speaking - If someone attains fifth year status but then does not graduate are they an alumna?
Does their legacy count? Say she did just well enough to have GPA but never amassed enough credits and never finished?

Newton's law of universal gravitation states that a particle attracts every other particle in the universe with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers.

There is no way in hell that you have to sneeze that loud every time you sneeze. Not only am I about to jump out of my skin, but I'm sure you're spreading germs far and wide. So help me, if you get me sick, there will be hell to pay.

What bright mind at The Weather Channel decided the public would be more interested in 'all things weather' if personal names were given to each winter storm? At least the National Weather Service has the decency to refrain.

You obviously never met my father.
My parents, both physicians, practiced at a Catholic hospital for a few years. There are crucifixes EVERYWHERE at a Catholic hospital - all the patient rooms, all the doctors' offices, all the break rooms - maybe not the ORs but pretty much everywhere else. It was a running joke that, whenever my father sneezed, the crucifixes throughout the hospital would shake. He covered his sneezes, but the sudden sound...!

My company spent the day volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. We do a volunteer day once a quarter - since I've been there, we've volunteered at an animal shelter, a food bank, and, today, Habitat.
Dammit, Jim, I'm a software engineer, not a construction worker!
On the down side, I hurt my back, neck, and a shin (tripped and fell, nothing broken fortunately). On the up side, I learned how to hammer a nail in effectively and how to apply mortar. And I helped build someone a house. That's the most important thing.

Today is the first NPC Badge Day in memory I've forgotten until it occurred

It's so weird... I don't feel like I heard about it much this year. The first notification I saw on social media was on Friday. And no one posted about it on GC.

D'oh! This is the first year in a few years when I haven't been self-employed or telecommuting on NPC Badge Day. And I forgot to wear my badge.
But it's probably for the best, because I got some AWESOME news today, and met up with my husband after work to celebrate at a restaurant on Bourbon Street. Needless to say, there was bourbon. I don't believe AEPhi totally forbids sisters from drinking while wearing a badge, if the sister is old enough to drink legally and does so responsibly, but I prefer not to drink at all while so obviously representing my sorority.

While photographing an active shooter response event today, I got a text from a close friend who tutored two kids that were involved in the Parkland shooting. One was injured, the other was killed.
About 2 hours later, I got a im from my friend whose granddaughter was also involved in the Parkland shooting. Her granddaughter survived but witnessed the death of some of her classmates.
ETA:
At the active shooter response event, I met a man who, along with his wife, survived the Las Vegas shooting.
My head is spinning.

My apartment building was evacuated at 4:30am this morning. It felt like a false alarm, but I evacuated anyway, and found that only a handful of other residents had done so. Sure enough, we got the all clear a couple of minutes later.
We were then told to disregard any further alarms. But the alarm system continued to go off intermittently for at least the next half hour.
Then, today, I got an email from the property manager to all residents. Apparently, someone burned some toast, which triggered the initial alarm, and someone else had tampered with the fire alarm in their apartment, which meant the staff and the fire department couldn't clear the board after the false alarm.
I'd say it's worse than the false alarms (and real arson attempts) that occurred in my college dorm, except that evacuating into 50-degree New Orleans weather isn't nearly as bad as evacuating into sub-freezing Boston weather.
