The link didn't go directly to the page, so if that happens for anyone else it's on page 34.

Cool article, thanks for sharing! This has probably come up before but I can't remember- does ZTA still have restrictions on not wearing the badge as a pendant or ring?

HOLY COW, where's Gusteau? Jaw dropped at the opal badge pictured in the article...gasp! It's beyond description.

Very coveted! I've had the pleasure of seeing a Senior Service Award bestowed once (in the past four years), but I've yet to see a Guard of Honor in person. I'm hoping at Convention I can track one of the wearers down and snap some pictures without seeming too creepy.

If you have Theta Phi chapters near you, you should try to see the president's badge in person. Pictures don't do it justice.

Then again, sapphires are my favorite. I could be biased.

Yes Whiterose, your editing skills are beyond amazing! Do the chapter president's get to keep the badge, or is it passed on with the office?

Thetygerlily, yes, ZTA's badges are supposed to remain badges.

Here! It's fantastic! I loved the rejected new member pin design, what an interesting piece of history. I texted my sister to recommend the article, and she responded with, "Why are you reading the Themis? I think you're a better ZTA than I am..."

All of the wreathed badges (chapter president, grand council, national president) stay with the office. If a chapter closes or is suspended, the president's badge returns to the national archives to live out the rest of its days... unless the chapter get reinstated, a common occurrence as of late!

The auction for this Dyer closed on my birthday. Best present ever!

I forgot to get pics of the back. Will have to go back and try to do that. It is hand engraved Josephine Griffis, B, 3-27-37

Those are diamonds at the four points, correct? And the tail on that Dyer is really pronounced, as are the other three points. It's an eye-popper, for sure. Dyer work is exquisite. Would that J. Lewis Small would pick up the torch... I love to speculate about how Dyer created their unique badges. Like, what was the creative process?

Anyhow, NICE b'day gift!

(hey Gusteau! glad you're still around!)

@Blondie93 what a lovely present! One day I hope to find my very own Dyer Kite.
