My dress:
I came very close to buying this dress and now I kind of wish I would have...but oh well.
And I really liked this dress the best but thought it looked weird on me.

The dress you got looks the best. Very pretty bodice. The 2nd dress doesn't flatter your figure. The 3rd one looks kinda plain.

The one you ended up wearing looks best on you, Mel. The one you're wearing seems to really bring your facial features out, whereas I think the other 2 didn't as much. This is just my (single girl) opinion of course lol.

Thanks. I think the 2nd dress actually looked better in person than in the picture. I abandoned the idea of buying it when I showed my dad the picture and he was like, "It makes your hips look pointy." Yeah, THANKS DAD.
Also I'm skinniest in the dress I bought, so that may impact how they look, lol.

Yeah, I've gotten that a few times. I most often hear that I look like the actress who plays Chloe on 24 (Mary Lynn Rajskub). I think I prefer looking like Katherine Heigl, haha.
Thanks, by the way - that's quite a compliment.

AD, I like the one you picked the most. The third one did look a little weird but I think the one you picked was very flattering and the beading looked really pretty!

So....Has anyone done the running of the brides? I'm doing it in October. I have a friend who did it and she said it wasn't out of control like you hear. She got a dress for $250!

I've never done it, but I hear the key is to just grab a bunch of dresses in your size and trade for the ones you actually want. You are very brave!

I did not go, but I heard from people who did go that you can go later after the crowds and still find a good dress. Good luck!

It looks fun but I doubt I would have found "the one" that way.

If you scroll down, they have a list of FAQs about the sale. Apparently, you can avoid the craziness and show up around 10am when everybody has put what they DON'T want back on the racks and still find a great dress. Also, other brides will "trade" dresses with other girls if they see that a girl has one that they want.

I don't remember which channel (and I didn't watch), but there was an hour long show on last night about the Filene's Running of the Brides.
