Pardon the crash. I am sure y'all are already aware of this, but I wanted to share this University of Kentucky News release from UK's website with y'all. And kudos to the Theta Mu Chapter for a job well done.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 5, 2005) − University of Kentucky senior Robby Martin was recently awarded the E. Allen James Outstanding Undergraduate Award by the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity Headquarters based on his leadership and involvement in his fraternity. Martin is a member of the Theta Mu chapter of Delta Sigma Phi at UK and currently serves as the chapter vice president.

Before serving as vice president, Martin served as the recruitment chairman and helped his chapter become one of the premier fraternities on campus. When he first joined, the chapter consisted of only 12 men. Under Martin’s leadership, the chapter recruited 75 men, and has since grown to nearly 90 brothers.

“It was quite an honor to receive the award and be placed in the same distinction as previous E. Allen James recipients,” Martin said. “These previous winners have progressed to lead our fraternity, major corporations, Congress and other national organizations to greater heights.”

Outside of Delta Sigma Phi, Martin, a finance major, is also involved in activities such as Infraternity Council, Inter Greek Programming Assembly, Business and Economics Ambassador and was also recently named University of Kentucky Greek Man of the Year.

“Delta Sigma Phi is extremely proud of the accomplishments of Robby Martin,” stated Fraternity Executive Director Scott Wiley. “The fraternity exists to build better men, and Robby is a tremendous example of that.”

Martin recently accepted a position to join General Electric’s Financial Management Program after he graduates in May 2006. The two-year, post-graduate program conditions the leadership and professional expertise of finance graduates across the nation.
