Italian Dessert

I need help! I'm going to my first Alumnae Association meeting and need to bring dessert--the theme is Italian?

Any suggestions?

Some ideas of dishes that may not "sound" Italian, but are:

1) Cheesecake.

2) Cookies. If you have a speciality store, you can pick up Italian cookies premade and arrange them nicely.

3)Fruit and Cheese. <- My favourite!

Definitely bring a tiramisu!

Italian style cheesecake, not the New York style, is also good.

Another vote for tiramisu' and gellato.

And Tuscan wine such as Chianti would be appropriate, perhaps.

Go for something different - bring italian soda syrup - cheap and there is a variety of flavors to choose from. you can put it in coffee, in soda, etc

Fruit and cheese is Italian???

Tiramisu is prolly gona be the easiest to make. I've never heard of Italian style cheesecake. Cannoli's or Italian cookies would be easy to bring and are always a pleaser within non-Italians.

Yep. It's how all the dinners in Italy end with my family... and I actually saw them talk about it on a cooking show (so it's not just my family ).
