List of School Names *at chartering* for your GLO
Just wondering, for each of your GLOs, how easy would it be to get the list of the school names on each charter? So for example if your GLO had chartered a chapter at Auburn University and Truman State University chartered in 1927, the list would have those entries as Alabama Polytechnic Instititute and Northeast Missouri State Teachers College respectively.

I don't think any lists we (Alpha Phi Alpha) maintain keep the original names of the schools. They are updated as the school's names are updated.

Sen, my list has the old names of many of the schools. It would still take some work to figure out when the names changed and compare that to the founding dates.

Bairds Manual would be a good resource to find old names and crosscheck dates. The book has a few volumes and I think the last one published was in the late 90's?<----Don't quote me on that.

NP, I'm fairly certain that you're right about Baird's. Mine is (IIRC) from 1991.

KD uses the originally name when they introduce the flags for each chapter at Convention except for my school. For some reason they use San Diego State University when that was the 3rd name of the school. At the time of chartering it was San Diego State College. That was the name of the school when I pledged too. My sophomore year the school became California State University at San Diego. The students immediately petitioned to change the name so my junior year I attended San Diego State University.

My chapter was founded in 1924, at which time the school was Florida State College for Women. To be honest, I never noticed if the charter read that way, or Florida State University. I would imagine it was the former, as it would have the names of the charter members.

For some institutions, the word "College" has been replaced with "University".
Example: Ashland (University)

Baird's has had 20 editions, the last one was in 1991 and the one before that was 1976. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baird%...e_Fraternities for the dates of each edition...
