Hey everybody!
So, it’s fall semester of my sophomore year (yes, at UNC), and I’m rushing for the first time. ☺ I’ve had a mix of emotions leading up to this point, but I think that I’m doing the right thing. I came from out of state and had no real thoughts on sororities last year. I felt too overwhelmed with the start of classes and adjustment to college to pay much attention to rush, so I didn’t sign up, and now I regret it. I see so many girls enjoying their greek experiences & have heard so many positive things from older women about their sorority sisters being their best friends today, that I knew I had to take the chance and go through formal recruitment this year.
Now or never, right? Right.
So here we go. My Fall 2009 Formal Recruitment Story at UNC Chapel Hill, to be official.
I was just returning from kick off when I first wrote this into a Word document, and I have to say, it felt a little odd being a sophomore. I’m cognizant of the fact that there ARE plenty of sophomores going through rush, but we’re definitely a minority. Regardless, I resolved to be completely open minded.
Here are the 10 houses on campus, in random order:
Jackie Kennedy
Marilyn Monroe
Audrey Hepburn
Lucille Ball
Grace Kelly
Elizabeth Taylor
Coco Chanel
Judy Garland
Molly Ringwald
Zsa Zsa Gabor
For reference, the houses we have are: Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Chi Omega, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi, Phi Mu, Tri Delta, Tri Sigma, Zeta Tau Alpha.
Since last night was first round, my story will be continuing soon!!
Oh, and heads up, unless I'm writing for a class, I am kiiind of long winded! Be prepared to get your read on.
