Honestly, there are no words. This is reprehensible, not to mention repugnant, behavior from him. Was he drunk? On drugs? Does he have dementia? Or WHAT?
Those are my thoughts about his words. My opinion: unprintable.

Don Sterling is none of these. Plain and simple, he's racist.
The NBA needs to force him out like MLB did with (former Cincinnati Reds owner) Marge Schott several years ago.

Yup. If the NBA has even the barest modicum of respect for its players, they need to throw Sterling out immediately.

Sounds like deep-seeded issues he has that he doesn't want to deal with. Sour and bitter.

He's probably used that language for a long time behind closed doors. When surrounded by armies of yes men, it's probably safe that he didn't think anyone would have a problem with it.
I think we'll probably see how his racial attitudes affect his business practices, and if they do, lawsuits are in his not so far off future.

People in my circle are saying the players should quit the team in protest.
Those people are dumb and have never been professional athletes.

Clippers players stage silent protest:
http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2014/0...ogo-on-shirts/
Quote:
In response to Sterling's purported comments urging a woman to not bring black people to his team's games, the Clippers on Sunday let their uniforms become a show of solidarity.
They ran out of the tunnel for Game 4 of their first-round playoff at Golden State wearing their warmups. Then they huddled at center court and tossed their warmups to the ground, going through their pregame routine with their red Clippers' shirts inside out to hide the team's logo.
Players also wore black wristbands or armbands. They all wore black socks with their normal jerseys.
"It's just us, only us. We're all we got," Clippers star guard Chris Paul could be heard shouting to teammates before they ran out.

Good for them.
As for Sterling, maybe he can hook up with Paula Deen and open an NBA-themed restaurant where all of the servers...nope, there is no way I can finish this sentence.

I'm guessing their contracts would have steep penalties if they quit or boycotted games.

They cannot force Sterling out. They can pressure him (again) to sell his team, or I guess, band together to meet his sell out price, but as an owner, it's his team.
NBA doesn't have the anti-trust exemption, which, I heard, was used to help force out baseball owner Marge Schott in the 80s?
I thought Clippers' players response was appropriate yesterday. ABC's repeated shots of Sterling's wife sitting courtside, while they talked about his alleged girlfriend, was brutal to watch.

Steve Ballmer is willing and have plenty of cash to buy. Of course, the Clippers will immediately be called the Seattle Supersonic.

If Seattle doesn't pony up a new arena, I doubt that.
The people of Seattle didn't want the team. That's why it's now (happily) the OKC Thunder.
