Omg, i just read like 6 pages and got angry, jeez OP, check your attitude at the door!

You're the one that came onto greek chat and asked a lame ass question about a school we dont know and a sorority we don't know, i'm guessing by now you'll have called Greek Life at your school and asked the question you asked us? Rules are Rules, and if you miss GPA by 0.5, well to put it bluntly, it sucks to be you?

If you couldn't get your act together last year, what the hell makes you think that commiting yourself to a GLO is going to improve your GPA?

Kappa had mandatory study hours when I was active, but considering its normally done at the house, with your sisters around you, how will this be any different? You'll just blame the sisters for your (again awful) GPA.

Like many people above my have said, if for whatever reason you are allowed to rush, do not try and explain the "my gpa is bad because of my acne", quite seriously, its an awful excuse, you should have sucked it up and gone to the doctors if it was that bad and if it got you down that much.

Don't be snarky with the women offering you advice on here, its rude. With everything in life "if you ask the question, be prepared for the answer", especially when its not an answer you agree with.

They're still on the school's website and they got some sort of award last fall. Groups there (local and national) get suspended/disbanded/reformed about as often as I change my underwear. None of it really means anything because they just keep rushing underground.

She didn't specify which sorority, and believe it or not, I actually am going to cut her slack and not say which school since she seems to have gotten a soupcon of a clue and deleted her post.

You.Are.Good.

I was going to go with Bloomsburg because many of the students from my high school filter into that school. I have a little more knowledge about BU than ESU or Millersville but, I know about both. I worked with a girl who was a "Deb" and another who was a "Pixie" (Phi Iota Chi). Bloomsburg is a big party school, OP-so, you need to work on bringing up your GPA and stop being so concerned about going through rush.

I'm not saying give up your dream of rushing. I'm telling you that you are better off worrying about school and THEN rushing. Thankfully, none of those schools are too competitive for recruitment. You can go through as a junior at one of those schools and still come out with a bid. If anyone disagrees, please feel free to share.

My money is on Bloomsberg.

(You need a 2.5 to go through recruitment @ Bloom. Millersville is 2.3 but states that the chapters have individual GPA requirements. East Strauds doesn't mention that one is necessary).

(I know we have this whole issue about outing PNMs on GC, blast me all you want, but the rules don't apply to this one....)

According to the OP, she didn't go to class or the library because of her acne. Now, her face has cleared up. Now she can go to class and the library. How will joining a sorority improve her grades?

Because it will improve her social life and that will give her an outlet to blow off steam, allowing her to do better at school.

That is the gist of what I read throughout her posts, correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm confused by the 2.5 requirement, though. If it is a local organization and there is no national/ international headquarters to answer to, why does it matter what your GPA is to go through recruitment for a local? You'll all have to excuse me for not knowing this but, I never looked at going through local sorority recruitment and my sophmore year, locals were no longer allowed at Penn State. Am I missing something about this?
