I am so sorry for your loss. This must be a very difficult time for you, and I admire you for being able to think about this while your grief over your mom's passing is still fresh.

If your mom didn't leave any instructions in her will, you might want to consider donating any Kappa-themed items to other Kappas or her chapter or another chapter. Her badge (it is a gold key, with or without gems, with or without black enameled letters) is supposed to either be returned to Kappa HQ, given to another initiated Kappa, given to a chapter to be used as an officer badge or "award" badge, but our badges are never supposed to be sold (like on eBay), especially to nonmembers. If you don't want to donate her badge, I guess it would be OK to sell to an initiated Kappa.

If you could let Kappa HQ know your mom passed away, someone there will update her member page. It is probably too late for this year's General Convention (don't quote me on that), but we have a memorial service for all our departed sisters who passed away since the last Convention.

Let me know if you need any help or if you have any other questions.
