Hi all, Im a mom and my daughter is currently rushing at Florida State University. Thought I'd register for this forum and settle my nerves by reading about what is going on with rush. Also wondering what are appropriate gifts for your daughter once (hopefully) they accept a bid.

Good luck to you and your daughter Debra. I swear sometimes recruitment is harder for parents than it is for the children.

Some gifts: a bouquet of sorority flowers is a popular choice. Not sure of the FSU area, but some places sell bid day baskets. There are others on this board who are more knowledgable of the area. Lilly Pulitzer has some sorority items, though they just had a huge sale so their stock is depleted.

Flowers would be fun, especially if you had them delivered for your daughter to the sorority house. They will be placed in the foyer-and everyone will be curious (and a little envious, but in a good way) as to who the flowers are for. If the sorority flower is not readily available in florist shops (my sorority's flower is the white violet and is very hard to find) you could do flowers in the sorority colors, or just white flowers with ribbons in the sorority colors. Garnet and Gold (on Pensacola Street a block from the stadium) has a greek shop and they may do baskets. Phone # is 850-222-1378. I also found an online shop that has cute things(disclaimer: I have not done business with this company, but they have awfully cute and different designs) http://www.greeklifegirl.com/
