I took piano lessons in elementary and high school but mostly learned at home with my parents. My mom gave me her keyboard so, when I can't sleep or I'm in a "mood," I play.

Congrats. I've tried, off an on, several times to learn. I do play a mean "C-scale," but it's a continuing saga. lol.

I usually chord (inversions) in the left hand and play single note melodies in the right. ...actually, if I just commited to practicing everyday I'd be better but it is what it is.

Lol don't congratulate me too much, I'm pretty much the same.

I can learn a (simple) song quickly but can't just sit down with a piece of music and start playing it like I know it. If playing were reading, I play like I'm sounding it out.

We leave a week from today. We're moving generallygreek into the Pi Phi house, so I'm kind of excited. We'll be back for parents weekend in early October, so it won't be too long until we see her again. She has a lot of stuff in storage. I'm not sure what, because her room looks like a clothes donation center....

Yes, she has to be there a week early because she has training for a health and wellness peer counselor position. She has a lot of stuff in storage too and that won't be delivered to her campus until September 1st. Since she didn't know which dorm she would be in until a month ago, we used a storage company that delivers to one central area. Problem is, her dorm is a few blocks from there. She's going to need someone to help her get all that stuff to her dorm, including her mini-fridge, which she might not even need this year because she's in a suite with a full kitchen. But, we don't want to get rid of it because she might be in a different style dorm next year. Hassles of out of state college...
