Hey just curious if there are any other chapter sweethearts out there? Im a now retired Kappa Delta Daggerman! :-) I may be retired but the benefits are still great LOL.

Hey I personally am not a sweetheart yet (im working on it..lol)
but in my chapter.. we have a LXA sweetheart, a FIJI sweetheart, and TKE sweetheart 2yrs in a row, and a SAM sweetheart..they all have their own cute names of course.. but in general they are sweethearts..im so proud of all my sisters!

Those guys rock! They are some of my best friends at this school.

This is probably a dumb question, but how do you become a sweetheart? And what exactly does a sweetheart do? I don't think sororities at my school have sweethearts, but a lot of the fraternities do. Again, I'm plagued with curiousity.

Sweethearts are chosen by the fraternity or sorority actives. It is a huge honor. It can be a boyfriend/girlfriend of a member but not always. At any rate it's always someone who has gone above and beyond the call to support the organization. They usually get asked to formals, date parties etc (if their significant other isn't a member anyway).

I personally am not a sweetheart but my chapter has 4 sweethearts total! We have Pike's Southern Belle, SAE's sweetheart, Pi Kapp's Rose Queen, and Sigma Chi's sweetheart.

Well I think becoming a sorority sweetheart is different than becoming a fraternity sweetheart. For me, my big sister is a KD, so when i was pledging sigma chi in 98 she made me learn KD history, creed etc. along with my sigma chi stuff. So basically from the beginning i've hung out with KD..even more than some of their own. Ya i dated a few of them but for the most part i was hanging out in their dorm rooms etc. Plus i always helped out with rush, philanthropy, shamrock. I new a good month before they voted that i would be their next daggerman. Besides being initiated its been the coolest thing for me. When i go visit my cousin who's a sig at Auburn and the KD's there know im coming...they hook me up all weekend. And since he's my cousin they take care of him and invite him to date functions and stuff. I just think KD is awesome cause no matter where i go, when they find out or see my KD sweetheart shirt they treat me as if a sigma chi sees me. I just think its an amazing thing to be apart of. But anyways...you just gotta hang out with the girls all the time and be helpful and you probably will be their sweetheart....good looks never hurt either! :-)
