Images of Historical Greek Houses

The other housing thread tends to focus on new or under construction Greek houses. However, I have found many houses that either do not exist anymore, have gone under a ton of construction, or have different ownership, (either are no longer greek or have changed organizations.)

This is an image of alder street between 15th and 16th in Eugene, Oregon at the University of Oregon Campus taken in the summer of 1957. The white house on the left is currently Kappa Delta sorority who moved in 1990. Prior to this it was Alpha Omicron Pi. The middle house as well as the house to the left is a co-op or communal living houses now. Previously the middle house was Delta Zeta sorority who left campus in 1992. The house on the far right was Alpha Gamma Delta who left in 1969. History on those houses are still being sought.

And the Pi Phi Beta Colony in the last paragraph of the article did indeed become the Alabama Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi in 1949. This was during the short phase when colonies were a new thing and were given cutesy names.

I think a few of those are still standing, they've just been radically remodeled.

Some former fraternity houses at Penn as they looked in the early 1900s. Most have since moved elsewhere or their houses have been rebuilt.

My moms beautiful old house! Alpha Delta Pi, Upsilon Chapter. Not sure quite how old the house is but the chapter just had their centennial!
