Non-NPC Sorority News
Kappa Beta Gamma colony expansions:
Alpha Iota: University of Lethbridge, Lethbridge, Alberta
Alpha Kappa: University of British Columbia, Okanagan, British Columbia
Alpha Lambda: Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania- this is a recolonization of Omicron chapter- I don't know why it was renamed
Alpha Mu: University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Wisconsin
note- I am working on finding out what happened to the Dowling College colony- which would have been Alpha Iota.

According to our NEW National website, we are currently recolonizing our Beta Zeta chapter at New Mexico State. Fall '16 colonies include South Carolina (USC) and the return to Iowa State (Alpha Nu).

Thanks for sharing! It would be great to have our Gamma Omicron chapter back on campus!

UNI is a great campus with a growing sports profile. The houses (the physical structures) are old and basically converted large private homes. But the Greek system there seems to be solid after some years of it sort of toddling along.
Good luck to all involved! And I can only wish a fraction of the fun I had while hanging out with my sisters from another chapter and the Pikes and Kappa Sigs. Oh, the memories. And hey, we all survived so they must have been good ideas, right?

On the not-so-bright side, Sigma Pi at Clemson has had their charter revoked by nationals following a suspension by the university. It will be considered for re-establishment in 2021.
This actually happened in early February, but I don't think it was announced here. This is the second SigPi chapter to have its charter revoked in about a 2-month period, following the University of Oregon in December 2015.

Taken directly from Clemson's Greek Life website:
Students who are considering joining a fraternity or sorority should be aware that there are Greek organizations that have been suspended by the university and are not permitted to recruit new members. The organizations are:
Phi Kappa Tau - suspended until May 2016
Pi Kappa Alpha - suspended until May 2017
Sigma Alpha Epsilon - suspended until May 2019
Sigma Chi– suspended until December 2025
Sigma Phi Epsilon– suspended until December 2019
Sigma Pi - suspended until December 2020
Theta Chi– suspended indefinitely.
The Theta Chi one is sort of strange, because they were a rechartering colony in 2010 when a new member died and they were immediately shut down, but they weren't ever rechartered so I'm not sure why they're still listed as suspended. Regardless, it's been a rough couple of years for Clemson fraternities. I am hopeful that things will turn around in the future.
Also, Chi Phi will be recolonizing at Clemson this upcoming Fall 2016.

Did the university do some kind of crackdown on the fraternities there, or were they all tied into something?
