Question - Death of a Member

One of my co-workers brother's mother-in-law (can you keep up with that? lol!) was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was 80 years old and died this past Sunday. My co-workers was considering sending flowers to the funeral. I mentioned that sometimes in lieu of flowers, people will give donations to philanthropies or national org scholarship program, etc, in memory of that person. At a quick glance, I couldn't find a specific philanthropy partner.

What would be appropriate for my co-worker to do? Are the flowers okay? She said the found that it was the yellow rose. Is that right? Thank you.

Yes our flower is the yellow rose. We do have some scholarship funds and another fund that goes to different charities each year based on the different ones that chapters vote for.
