If they are named through the Southern tradition of a family last name perhaps they are related and are legacies or received similar strong recs? Or maybe it is something more sinister and someone stole someone's baby name by overhearing it and they are separated by various degrees. Where's Jessica from Murder Show Wrote?
I like looking at naming trends and having some "o rly?" moments as I have a traditional classic name and rarely meet other women my age with the exact spelling, so I find names so fascinating. My last name is also pretty rare and until recently everyone with it I knew how we were related but now a whole bunch of Nigerians on facebook have it and it has gotten me wondering.

A friend just sent me a link to this website that does name totes, and I can't believe the ones that they carry...Bryna? Dara? Tori? Are these popular now?
(side note: I think the one for Jamie is ADORABLE. I wish that was my name!)

90210 premiered in 1990. That explains the Tori.

5 Anne/Annas
4 Carol/Carolines
3 Ashleys
2 Grace/Gracies
3 Kate/Katies
2 Erins
I'd love to look at older chapters and see what the names looked like back then!

I also noticed two Paytons in the AOPi group. One of my daughters has a high school friend named Laken (and ironically, her parents are from Nebraska and Iowa, so you can't go with the Southern reasoning behind it! )
If I did a list of my girls' friends names I have a feeling it would look very different than the list of my niece's friends who live in the midwest.
As for my sons....well, I swear all the boys we know are named Will.

You could name a daughter Mary Mary, but I fear that might make her quite contrary.
