Loved this show because it was set in Indianapolis--made me feel at home! The characters were distinct yet they all blended together perfectly: the zany but caring building super, one "goody-goody" daughter, one "push the envelope" daughter, and the struggling, working mom. It was one of those shows that proved that not all American families were headed by Ward and June Cleaver.
I met Bonnie several occasions because we shared friends in common. Bonnie and her husband were lovely people. We were also Normans...as are my children. You know that gracious, sweet, INTELLIGENT woman you saw on television? That wasn't an act. Bonnie was that woman.
