Storybook Mural?
Two of my friends are having twins! It looks as if they're expecting a boy and a girl, due in early October.
Since the daddy-to-be is an artist (amateur but very good), they want to put a mural on the one wall, one that contains a lot of characters from books and the alphabet. So, I thought it could be fun if you all made suggestions. These should be characters from books which you feel that (at least one of) the twins should read at some point.
It would be like:
A = Amelia Bedelia
B = Bambi
etc.
Suggestions?

W = Wild Things (i.e. Where the Wild Things Are)
That is the only one off the top of my head. I'll think about it throughout the day though and post what I come up with.

Wow, that could look very busy! He may want to stick to one artist... I believe there is a Dr. Seuss book out there that's all letters and numbers. He could illustrate those on the wall.

LOL - that's what I said! He plans to do this more as a "chair rail". I'm not able to completely picture it, but he says it will be like a large A then a picture of Amelia Bedelia, then a large B etc.

I'm thinking of all the books my first graders absolutely LOVE. I'm not sure how some of them would look as a mural but these are DEFINATELY books they must read!
L Love You Forever (prepare for tears!)
D Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus
G Good Boy Fergus
O Oh! The Places You Go!
T Tacky the Penguin
P The Polar Express
J Jumanji
C Click, Clack, Moo: Cows that Type
I know there are more but since I'm not at school I can't tell you more right now.

My favorite book is Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs but I don't know how well a pancake on top of a school would work
