I hate formal rush in general. It's all about who makes the best first impressions, even if they're being totally fake. I'm a big fan of informal rush, since you actually get more time to find out who will fit in your chapter and who won't, and while some surprises do sneak through, I think you do get a different type of person through informal. It's almost like with formal rush as a freshman, you're shaped as a person by the chapter you join, but with informal, you can find the chapter that goes along with who you already are. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.
