Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind

I can't believe that no one has mentioned one of my favorite Greek movies!! It's called "Little Sister" and it features Alyssa Milano and Jonathan Silverman. The basic premise is that Silverman is a fraternity pledge whose pledgemaster tells to steal the composite of a sorority's founders, so he dresses up in drag and poses as a female rushee in order to "pledge" this sorority and get access to the composite. In the meantime, he falls for one of the sisters (who ends up being his Big). It's really a good positive movie about Greek life, although there are a few stereotypical scenes in it. If you haven't seen it, you need to check it out...it would be a GREAT movie for a sisterhood night or something like that.

For the record, MeezDiscreet, the name of the fraternity referred to by 33girl was called Omega Theta Pi, or to abbreviate, Q-T-Pis . They were mostly a ritzy, uppity frat. As another Greekchatter said, there was NO relation b/t the Q-T-Pis and the Ques.
Hope this helps

Thanks Laura & RainMan! See, if I was a trivia buff like RM I would have remembered the whole name of the fraternity.

Hi all!
Just saw "Everybody's All American" on t.v. yesterday - with Dennis Quaid, Jessica Lang, John Goodman, Timothy Hutton- it was not only really good but it starts out at LSU (they are the tigers right?) so neat stuff about the school is in it for all my LSU Greek Chatters but also - the girlfriend is in a sorority and they show a beautiful positive pinning scene! The movie made me want to trade my East Coast life for something Southern!! Rent it!!

Hey Symphony,
The college scenes were filmed at LSU. My aunt was the wardrobe mistress for the movie
and I was an extra. My best parts are on the cutting room floor!
The football scene was filmed at half time during an actual game. For about two weeks prior, attendees were asked to dress 50's style. It was great!! Also, the pinning scene took place at the Kappa Delta house.

Agreed, a suggestion of Sorority Pink 2 as a movie for viewing is a troll, its a porn film.
However, for porn films, Sorority Pink and Sorority Pink 2 are heavy on plot. The producers put much more effort into knowing about sororities than the sorority slasher movie people did. Both advisors and alumnae are dealt with, the sisters although hypersexed are played as having a sororital bond that isn't sex related....
(I think there is a Sorority Pink 3, but it has a different cast than SP & SP2)

LOL I just have to bring this back up coz I just saw a movie in VH1 during their "movies that rock marathon"...I think it's called Friends Forever, and its about this freaky girl trying to take over this "perfect girl"'s(played by Shannen Doherty) life. The story line isn't really focused on sorority life but Shannen is in a sorority and they show a pinning ceremony (which the freaky girl interrupted, i dont remember the actress' name) and shows some scenes of living in a house, but also there's a scene where Shannen supports one of her sisters because she was scared she was pregnant. I've seen this movie too many times because they put it on vh1 so often.

gammazetagrl,
I've seen "Friends Forever" a thousand times too. It's always on VH1. That pinning ceremony scene cracks me up. The worst part of the movie, though, are the scenes where Shannen sings. She sounds terrible.
