Question UGA Rushee with questions

I'm a sophmore at UGA and I have decided to (finally)rush this fall. I'm really excited about rush and I'm trying to be well-prepared for it. One of my friend's mothers is supposed to be helping me with recs, but she suddenly had to go out of town which leaves me without some recs for KAtheta and tri-delt. I know that there is a list of ladies that are alums from these sororities but where can I find it?

Letters of reference should be written by people that actually know you, not just any alumna from a particular sorority. If you do not know anyone that is a Theta or Tri-Delta, then the only thing that can be provided is a letter of information, not introduction. The chapter will probably learn more from your Recruitment application than they would from a basic letter of introduction.

It is really the responsiblity of the sorority, not the potential member, to seek our recommendations if the sorority requires them (and not all sororities do require them).

Letters of reference are a way of introducing yourself to a chapter, but they are not a guarantee of membership.

If you have to go around telling everyone you're in charge you're not much of a leader.

Thank you for your help. I know that I need a rec from women I know, but I feel kinda funny calling them up and then asking of which sorority they are a member (that is why I was looking for the list). However, I talked to one of my friends in Theta and she said, as you did, not to worry if I could not find one
