It was in their student newspaper. I don't think it has been announced in the NPC extension bulletin.

Alpha Sigma Alpha has been invited to colonize at Western Illinois University in fall 2013. The colony will be a reestablishment of the Beta Kappa Chapter.

Good luck. That's about the best I can say. I think it's a bad decision - and I more than most want BK back, for obvious reasons.

I'll be really curious to see what direction Bucknell takes this time. They have 8 inactive chapters (some long dormant, two from the early 2000s), but ADPi was a new colonization in 2009.
I used to work up there and, at least based on what I'd read in their alumni magazine, the alumni seem to identify very strongly with their Greek affiliations. They're also legacy-heavy as a university (they often play up the three, four, five generations that have all attended Bucknell).
I wasn't working there in 2009, so I don't know what (if any) reaction there was to choosing ADPi, but I do wonder if alumnae would squawk if there was another new colonization rather than a recolonization. Especially since I'm pretty sure there have been more fraternity recolonizations.

Why? Just curious. I don't know much about that campus other than knowing we have a chapter there.

Do you note think the campus can support another chapter? According to Irish Pipes list total is 80 and quota last year was 23. That is surprising that they would expand with those numbers.

I agree, we recolonized our Beta Phi (Whitman College in Washington) and Beta Sigma (Utah) chapters last year, it would be nice to have Beta Chi back as well!

One of AC officers is a Bucknell alum. Our chapter wasn't there very long, but the alumnae had a huge reunion a couple years ago, which she attended. I'm sure there would be support from those alumnae if Gamma Phi Beta recolonized.

This. I'm not trying to be Debby Downer, but I hope if it becomes clear that it isn't working, we (ASA national entity we) have learned from our past mistakes re trying to recolonize chapters that have an emotional meaning to us and have the good sense to pull out. Obviously AF and I are both hoping we are completely clueless and will be proven wrong.
As far as Bucknell, that article pretty much sums up the North vs. South attitude regarding sorority size.
