Fleur-de-lis: Sunday I tested and received my 1st degree black belt!
Broken Key: My Sensei put myself and my friend Adam who also tested for black through the hardest test he's ever given (his own words, and we could tell, he made us do stuff that's normally not in black belt tests!)... so I'm thoroughly sore ALL over. I even bled a little, but nothing that you'd bug your eyes out at. I would go into detail but... you don't need to hear it all. :P
But yeah, I'm so very excited now that my test is over and done with! Granted when I go for 2nd degree etc a few years down the road, that will be another battle, but this one hill has been climbed! I've been doing martial arts for 4 1/2 years, and teaching for the majority of those years. It's nice to be able to be called Sensei by my students, I taught classes like normal and this time they didn't have to say "sempai" (which means like senior), and were able to actually say sensei. It was an amazing thing to finally hear. Plus I've got a bazillion pictures and video courtesy of my dad. So sometime over the break I'll finish fixing those up and I'll upload a few of the better pictures. ^_^
Oh and the style I study is Kempo Tae Kwon Do for those of you who know the differences.
