Question Proper REC procedure

I have a question that I am hoping all of you can help me with. My younger daughter will going through recruitment in the fall. We are in the process of finding REC's for her. Her older sister knows a girl in a chapter at the school Younger Daughter will be attending. Older Daughter e-mailed her friend to ask from whom she had secured her REC for her chapter. The friend said just e-mail my Big, she is in charge of recruitment and will get an alum to take care of it. Upon hearing this from Older Daughter, I immediately thought DANGER WILL ROBINSON! This sounds like it could potentially violate the recruitment policy. We have beaten the bushes to find our own source. I am leaning toward Younger Daughter just contacting our local Alumnae Panhel just to be on the safe side. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't see a problem with that. That's how you network it. Say Susie is a friend and she said to contact you about my sister who needs a rec for this fall. Simple as that.

Just maybe do it right away before any strict silence rules come into play.

I have seen notices on chapter websites that invite pnms to contact a given address if they need a rec. for that particular sorority. I think it is worth a try to contact the chapters recruitment chair, as your daughter's friend suggested.

But it is good of you to not want to violate any rules.Ordinarily the earliest I have seen no-contact rules in effect have been at the conclusion of spring semester, but each college panhellenic has their own rules.
