Smile FSU Freshman Rushing

Hello Everyone,
I'm going to be attending Florida State University in the upcoming Spring (I was deferred to spring admission because of how competitive it was for admissions this year) and I was interested in greek life at FSU. Will starting in the spring hurt my chances at being involved in the greek system? I will also be living off-campus in a house. Are there any specifics anyone can tell me about greek life at FSU? When spring comes around, how should I get involved in the rush process?
Thanks,
NoleSeeking

go noles! your best bet will be to call the greek life office and ask them these questions. that being said, i believe that all the fraternities participate in spring rush-luckily, it does not have the stigma that it does for sororities.

where you are living should not matter at all and it should not matter that you are rushing in the spring, unless a fraternity is not participating in spring recruitment for whatever reason.

there are numerous fraternities at fsu, so you should have ample opportunity to meet a lot of guys. spring pledge classes typically are smaller than fall pledge classes, but that is not a bad thing.

have you visited the fsu greek life website? they have great information for folks interested in greek life and there will be an attachment somewhere on the site, called the tomahawk http://greeklife.fsu.edu/Documents/Tomahawk%202011.pdf that you should look at(if you have not already done so). call the greek life office with your questions.
