Founder's Day Plans?

Our chapter has a formal (dressed to the nines!) dinner planned at a local restaurant where we'll conduct the Founder's Day program and present honors.

I can't wait.

Founders Day here is put on by City Council and all of the chapters attend. This year it is at a country club. Everyone dresses nice because we do honorary rituals at Founder's Day--Order of the Rose, Silver Circle, Golden Circle,Diamond Circle in addition to Woman of the Year recognitions.

So, our Founder's Day Formal was really fun and there were a few tears shed.
When our treasurer was presented with her pin and award for "Pledge of the Year", her face....the joy and total shock, really touched everyone's hearts.

We gave our outgoing President a gavel guard and she was delighted. I was named "Woman of the Year" and we also recognized our first Envoy and new honorary member. We also had a few other awards specific to the chapter, one a prize for the sister with the most outstanding dedication to academics and one for the sister who had shown the most amount of growth as a sister, woman and student.

Of course, the letter from Laura Ross Wingfield made us smile....and we're up to the challenge!

Looking forward to what the 2013-14 year brings for us and for all our sisters around the World.

I'm glad you had a great Founder's Day, Mimi! I met an online sister face-to-face for the first time. She invited me to her City Council's celebration. The lunch was lovely, and it was wonderful for me to be part of the festivities next to a long-time sister.
