First the good news:
The Kappa Delta Rho colony at Angelo State University(TX) will receive their charter in December. Congratulations to the new members of KDR.
Now the bad:
In addition to the announcement earlier in the thread of Kappa Alpha Theta closing at Washburn University(KS), the Delta Chi chapter has also been closed. Closure is due to low membership numbers.

The FarmHouse chapter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has been closed following the alcohol-related death of a freshman member in September.

Phi Sigma Kappa at Florida State University is under interim suspension. Allegations of hazing are being investigated.

Administration at California State University-Northridge has suspended pledging activities of all groups following hazing allegations.

Good! Another campus that has been 'open for extension' forever is having a presentation. Hope this one works, too.

SUNY-Binghamton (no "p") has had a history of RM issues by Greek organizations and probably was approached cautiously to help confirm that the culture had changed. When it opened (two NPC groups had recently closed), I recall that a GC poster had mused whether any group would be interested. Hopefully, the current interest indicates that the campus has turned a corner.

Quite by accident, I have just discovered that Beta Theta Pi has colonized at Pitt (University of Pittsburgh), and that three other fraternities will be colonizing within the next four years. Does anybody know which others will be colonizing?
I just looked at the website for the fraternities, and I'm shocked at how many fraternities which were there when I was in school are no longer there. I'm also surprised at how many of the ones which are still there show a recolonization date!

Just got home from chartering the Alpha Omicron Chapter of Omega Phi Alpha at the University of Florida!
In 3 weeks, I get to do the same thing again when OPA charters the Alpha Pi Chapter at West Virginia University!

Congratulations to the rechartered Theta Chi chapter at Western Illinois University. The colony members were initiated and rechartered this past weekend.

I saw on the latest NPC Extension Bulletin that Long Island University is open for extension. On the NPC Campus Listing/ Recruitment thread it shows all NPC groups are closed but the bulletin states that Alpha Epsilon Phi & Alpha Xi Delta are still on campus. Does anyone know why there is this discrepancy?

There are two Long Island Universities- the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University and Long Island University proper. The LIU Post campus is the one with the two sororities. Does the bulletin specify which one is open?
For reference:

Incase no one PMed you, there is a currently an Alpha Xi Delta and an Alpha Epsilon Phi chapter at CW Post-Long Island University in Greenvale NY.
There (was? is?) a Long Island University in Brooklyn NY, which you saw on IPs GC list with the closed NPC group listing.
I do not know to which LIU the NPC Extension Bulletin referred.

Delta Upsilon Syracuse
DU is returning to Syracuse in the fall of 2016. This is a historic chapter existing from1874-1996 when the chapter was closed for risk management issues

Thanks for clarifying my question! The NPC Bulletin referenced the campus as Long Island University-Post and I did not know to look at it under a different listing. It was just listed in the most recent announcement.

Illinois State University will hold presentations on November 5, 6, and 7. Not sure if selected organizations are public knowledge yet, so I'll keep an eye on the Panhellenic facebook and website.

I'm interested to see who will submit an interest packet, since two chapters closed in the past two years. The LIU Post Greek Life website lists both Phi Sig and DPhiE as unrecognized chapters, which might also hamper the recruitment efforts of a new chapter if they are still recruiting underground.
