UNCW isnt allowed to have houses or dorms....and well we dont have a chapter there as of right now so it doesn't really matter anyways

but i have been to Virginia Tech's house (before they moved on campus) and its REALLY nice. i have also seen NC State's house (before the chapter closed) and i've driven past ECU's house (which is also very pretty).

i think some of the prettiest sorority houses are in Chapel Hill at UNC. i've been in the KD house before and it's really nice. they have a separate building in the back for their dining which is really nice. Chi Omega's house there is absolutely beautiful and takes up like half a block

Does the chapter president not always have to live in the house? I picked up the Tufts president to go to regional conference last year, and she lived in a different house.

Re: i think i missed one...

Good question, I would say from the Tufts Greek Housing website below, that only sophomores live in those houses. Maybe older students have other housing? Chapter Presidents are usually juniors, right? hmmm....

Sophomore fraternity and sorority members may fulfill the university's residency requirements by living in their chapter house. These are the fraternity and sorority houses where many members choose to live starting their sophomore year.

A little history of this house is in order - this at one time was the UNC SAE house, up until the late 80's when a few brothers took issue with one of their neighbors, and tried to run him down with a car as he walked on the sidewalk!

SAE was kicked off campus for a short time, Alpha Phi got kicked out of their older house (which became DU for a while, now is the Marcus Garvey Cultural Center - and campus radio station). Alpha Phi took a year moving into this house as it needed quite a lot of work after SAE left.

To the left of this house is the old ADPi house, now is just a rental property, but I believe still owned by ADPi, who shut down five or six years ago. To the right of this house use to be an entire block of homes (which at one time included DU, LXA, and Sigma Chi) that is today a very beautiful student parking lot.

Sorry to crash your boards, but while this house may indeed still be owned by Alpha Phi, it is not occupied by them any longer. Regrettably, Alpha Phi left OU's campus. This house was then briefly occupied by a new sorority at OU - Phi Mu, until ZTA also went off campus, and then the Phi Mus moved into the former ZTA house. I don't know who, if anyone, occupies the old Alpha Phi house now. I know it is not an NPC sorority.

ETA: Jill just informed me that Alpha Phi is coming back to OU next year! Awesome and good luck!!

*crash*

Thanks to the Wayback Machine, I found this pic of the Alpha Phi house at Indiana. This pic does not do it justice at all...it's absolutely gorgeous.

Alpha Phi is going to be returning to the Ou campus in 2006 just in time for fall rush......So we aren't there now but we will be....and we will be getting our house back...I know this because my cousin is a Delta Gamma at Ou and she informed me.
