I'm currently reading "A Little Life" and while it's a bit heavy, it's definitely worthy of all the praise it's received.

I am re-reading the "Game of Thrones" books AKA "A Song of Ice and Fire". I spend 10+hours weekly commuting on a train, so I need long books to make the ride go quickly!

Shadowland was one of the hardest books I ever read to get through. Do not recommend it!

New one more promising!!

LOVED this! Very fascinating!

I'm reading mind candy (The Cat Who...), being gentle with myself right now. I do have Saving Monticello: The Levy Family's Epic Quest to Rescue the House that Jefferson Built waiting for me, though.

^^^ Each year a book is chosen for the campus-wide reading project. That was the book from 4-5 years ago. A couple years ago we read The Warmth of Other Suns, which had some crossover elements with the Lacks Family moving to Baltimore to work at the steel mill.

I found this book to be fascinating from a scientific aspect and a sociological aspect. I asked our chapter advisor, who is a cancer researcher, about the book and she emphatically stated that we owe a great debt to Henrietta Lacks, because they really have laid the foundation for many advancements in modern medicine.
