Hmm, yes, I think it would be more tolerable without the guard. It's quite large relative to the size of the badge!

I'll look for a picture of that - I'm not sure if there's one in the thread. I did a quick scan of some emails I've exchanged with AzTheta, but couldn't find pictures of that particular badge.

The original is gold with garnets on the legs of the chi, pearls in the delta, and a raised diamond in the center. We sell a replica of it, but it doesn't quite live up to the original.

I think they're garnets, but I'm only guessing because garnets were quite common on early Delta Chi badges.

This is a badge that belonged to Frank Huston, Minnesota 1893. Minnesota is our oldest continuously active chapter. Diamonds, pearls, and garnets. The garnets on the chi were very common on early badges - including many of the founders'.

Found it, kaokite!

^That is one of the classiest badges I've ever seen!

FWIW, the fourth legacy for whom I had planned the sapphire & opal white gold ADPi pin has pledged Pi Beta Phi. I suppose that means that I get to keep it!

For those not wanting to go back a few thousand pages to see it:

Thank all y'all! I do love it. I got it on etsy, of all places, and it's from my chapter! Some young lady is going to be thrilled to get that some day.

What a beautiful selection of badge possibilities you have. Are those sapphires and opals? White gold or silver?

Excuse me while I scream.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The AEPhi badge includes 27 pearls, set in sequence, framed in yellow gold and on a yellow gold bar. We have one option and one option only: chapter guard or no guard. The guard is also pearl set, with yellow gold.

I'd wear my badge much more often if we had the option of a white gold badge.

I may have joined ADPi for that badge as well. As it is, a (very small) part of my deciding factor was based on which badge I liked best.

Very pretty, and I like how it would also represent AXiD's colors!

Hahaha - I don't feel so bad now, I love our badge and it was a deciding factor for me too. My other possible choice was Chi O, (since I COB'd) and I loved that badge too since it had a skull on it. However, we didn't have ADPi or AXiD on my campus or I would have wanted those two gorgeous badges too. They are both amazing.

I actually think all badges are cool, I can't think of one I wouldn't want to wear, but I do like some better than others.
