What my chapter usually does for our Neos other than throwing them a party, we have a ton of activities that one might call girls night out type of things. We all go bowling, we go kick it at the movies, we kick it Downtown( those in Chicago will feel me on that one). We basically try to do activities that furhter us in growing and getting to know more and more about each other. We know that the sorority year can be filled with a lot of hectic things so having things like sleep overs and just going to dinner allow us to relax. we also have stroll practice so that our neos learn as many strolls as possible because sorors from different regions have different types of strolls, its not like practice but everyone learns to be on point. Of course each line comes up with a stroll of their own and it carries their line name.

Some good activites include projects that you can do as a group. My chapter, Gamma Pi Sigma Chapter (Milwaukee, WI) made a Sigma Quilt. The quilt turned out beautiful!!! We put last year's central region theme on it and we won the display competition. It was very easy. We bought inexpensive felt squares with fabric paints. Each soror decorated their square with blue and gold themes, sisterhood, greek letters, etc. We let it dry and then myself and our basileus tacky glued the squares on a big black felt sheet. Then we glued the letters at the top. It is really nice and we use it at events as a display.

Another activity could be a paddle making party. Get paddles and letters, paint, shields and whatever else you want to use and make paddles.

Scrap book party. Get pictures together and start a chapter scrapbook. This way neos will see what went on before they got there.
