Crisis Management Policy

Saw this Crisis Management Policy for UPhiU.
http://upsilonphiupsilon.org/page.php?pageid=16

On the one hand, some of this is probably useful, on the other hand, I've never seen the "what to do in the event of a tragedy" spelled out quite as distinctly.

I have seen a similar policy either on an insurance website or an NIC fraternity's page.

My first two thoughts while reading this...

1. As a parent, I find it troubling that the phrase, "Do not call parents" shows up so many times in this document. While I understand that some news is better delivered *(or, is more appropriately delivered) by university or medical personnel, I'm still troubled by it. For instance, if my child attempted suicide, I would definitely want to know about it. (Aside: IMO, the suicide section of this CM policy seems terribly dismissive. I get that it's not good to make a big deal out of that type of event, but it seems to me that a call to a parent - or maybe even a campus counselor - is in order when suicide is attempted.)

2. Where was the proofreader for this document? The grammar nerd in me gets really irritated when a document of such importance isn't proofed before it's released to the public.
