Sorority definition of business casual?

A sorority that I really am interested in is having a mini-orientation. It's a latin sorority and the dress code was business casual. What is considered business causal? Sunday best? Is this acceptable?

And yes I'm not Hispanic or of Latin descent.

Unfortunately those pictures are super dark but from what I can tell it looks good. Knee length dress and blazer. Not sure if boots would work with it or not though.

To me, the dress looks a little odd with the blazer (it looks like a tube top and too summery), but might pair better with a cardigan.

Other things that work well for business casual:
-Cardigans
-Fitted sweaters
-Pencil skirts
-Trousers / work-appropriate pants
-Many "work-style" dresses: close to the knee, covering up top, A-line or pencil, non-shiny or flashy material

I found some great montages:

I think this is a good mix of ideas. I wouldn't wear that dress in a business casual situation. I agree that it is a bit too summery, with or without the blazer.

I would avoid any pattern that is busier than a stripe. The examples given above are very good.

FYI, since I look horrible in suits, I have several dresses of one color or another, and blazers that compliment them. One of the blazers, and one of the dresses are floral, and since I don't wear them together ( ), they work well.

LAblondeGPhi, I absolutely love the pants outfit with the ivory blazer with black lapels!

I think for an orientation, the pics posted are just fine, and you don't need to run out and get something else or borrow something ill-fitting.
