Cool Weird, awkward, funny story!

Okay, I just needed to share this with you all. So about 5 years ago I was dating this guy, Mark. It didn't work out basically because he was in Wisconsin and I was in Michigan. We lost track of each other over the years and all that despite being in the same hobby (Civil War reenacting). Okay, fast forward about 5 years. I'm getting involved in Revolutionary War reenacting and with the Kings 8th. They have a mailing list and the captain likes to send to the list any inquiries he gets from prospective members, etc. We get one yesterday and I read through it, basically skimming because its usually military/guys which I know nothing about the military side of the unit. I get to the end and its the same name as the Mark that I dated years ago!! I send an email basically telling about the distaff (women's role) and how welcoming the unit is, if the military is anything like the distaff its great, etc. Nothing to say that I think its him - just in case it turns out not to be, etc. Needless to say, it is him! That's where the weird, awkward, funny part comes in! I'm not interested because I'm moving and all that, but you never forget the first guy that you loved (he's also married). I know that Rev War reenacting is rather small - especially here in MI - but what are the chance of him wanting to get into Rev War (especially British when he was/is diehard Union/Northerner!!) and picking the same group that I just recently joined?!

Just wanted to share my little soap opera - and further proof that the world is a SMALL place!! Anyway, have to get going and get everything ready for this weekend!!

Alpha Love,

Sarah

Great story, Sarah. Talk about your small world, indeed!
