University of Iowa

Has anyone heard anything about their rush? I was on another message board when one of the guys said that he had taken his daughter there yesterday so she could start rush today!

The NPC chapters there are:

ACW
ADP
AEF
AF
AXD
CW
DDD
DG
DZ
GFB
KAQ
KKG
PBF
SGR
ZTA

Recruitment was to start today, and end (I think!) on the 24th.

I'm a senior at U of I and yes Rush did begin today with the Welcome! round of parties!

here's a link to our greek site - www.uiowa.edu/~greek

you can see pictures of chapter houses and such here - http://www.uiowa.edu/~greek/greek_li..._sor_info.html

Our rush is typical of that at a big state school - not as cut throat as the south, but we take things seriously here.

AEPhi just came to campus last year and they are unhoused.

If you have any questions - ask away

Those are impressive!
Were they formerly private residences or were they built specifically to be sorority houses?

The man I was talking about is a soccer referee (do y'all see a pattern here?), and I pm'd him to find out his daughter's name. Y'all seem to have a very strong system!!

Oooh, I wish there were PNMs from Iowa posting rush threads. I love hearing Iowa stories -- it's such a fun school!

I've noticed a definite lack of midwestern threads this year--no Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, etc, etc....

Although the south is rockin' out.

Indiana has a lot of deferred rushes. Butler and Purdue does for a fact. I want to say that IU starts sometime in the middle of fall. Ball State may also have deferred, but I'm not sure.

I believe most of them were built to be sorority houses. I love my own house but the Alpha Phi house is my fav - it's a historical building so they have to get special permission for just about anything they do to it! The ADPi house was built in the 70's - as you can see, it's very inspired - but very cool looking on the inside! The ZTA house is the former Sigma Kappa house - but they've been gone a long time!

PS - here's the recruitment schedule for the rest of the week! Today was brutal!!! But the rest of the week gets easier
It goes from 14-9-5-3-1!

Cincinnati -- Fall 2003

Just a little update on Iowa... all but 4 chapters made quota (which was 34 this year) and that is fantastic for us!!!

If you want specifics (as to who did/did not make quota) - pm me
