Haha, actually I have. Maybe when I get tired of my profession, but for now it's really just a hobby (helping my friends out with their events.)

Seriously. You should. I've gotten so many ideas from you.
I'm currently considering other combos to make both mother's happy. My mom agreed to doing red and white for my engagement party though.

The fact that Violet and I live in the same city makes her not being a wedding coordinator even more disappointing.
Trying to pick a date (or even choices of dates) for a med student and PhD student is downright ridiculous. Unfortunately, it seems like the smartest and easiest idea would be to wait until after we both graduate and to get married sometime between then and the start of my residency. Now, trying to pick that weekend without knowing when I would actually have to start said residency will be interesting.
It's just so far away. We've already been together 5 1/2 years; it'll be almost 8 1/2 by the time we're married if this ends up being the plan. If we didn't live in different states, I would marry the guy tomorrow.
Oh, and I really like the peacock theme!

That's tough. Anyone I've ever known who was engaged during med school just waited until after grad and before res. Esp. If they were only interested in a summer date.
Are you open to a Friday or an off-seasonish wedding like December or Jan? (Yes, I know it's cold lol) I don't know what the med school schedule is like but if you're REALLY not wanting to wait, you could marry over a holiday break maybe?

I really don't care about the time of year. Our big thing is not wanting to have to start out being married by living in separate states, which would be the situation if we got married before graduation.
We'll figure something out.

These are super cute KSUViolet. I'm sending a bunch to my best friend who originally had 'teal and coral' as her wedding colors but as of last weekend, changed to mostly blueish.

I love a simple bowl of lemons or limes (or both) as a centerpiece at any kind of wedding or dinner event.

I can't take credit for them. A lot of planning/interior design/event design blogs put them together. I just search for them. lol.

I got an email from theknot.com this morning with "20 (New!) Wedding Color Combos". I thought of this thread. Then I thought that I need to get to planning...the only thing we've done is the guest list, lol

I love seeing all the latest bouquets (I used to teach college floriculture) and the fabulous cakes, especially the fondant ones. BlazerCheer decorates cakes on the side and I thought that fondant cakes would be the most popular but she says no, they're really expensive. She made a fish one for her sister's groom's cake and you would've thought it was going to flap off the table.
*Fabulous* book on wedding flowers: To Have and to Hold, by David Stark and Avi Adler. Best ever.
