That would actually make sense!! (For those of you who don't know - Sidney Allen is an ASA and past NPC national prez & she has a thick as molasses Louisiana accent.)

Here's how it works. Expansion is handled between NPC (the national governing body of all Panhellenic sororities) and the schools themselves. These schools announced in a National Panhellenic Conference bulletin that they are open for expansion (something that has to be determined by the school and its Greek Life staff),meaning that they are ready for a new sorority on their campus (for whatever reason).

Sororities that might be interested in these schools will send info packets about their sorority to the school's Panhellenic. There are 26 NPC sororities, so that makes for alot of packets if they ALL choose to submit one. From those info packets and other info, the school then chooses a few of the sororities (like 2-4) that they are interested in to come to the school and make presentations.

National staff of each chosen group will come to the school and present in front of the Panhellenic groups on campus about their particular sorority. After presentations, a vote is taken to see which sorority wil be invited to come to that school (colonize). Depending on the campus and other factors, schools will sometimes select 2 groups to colonize.

PHA is not expanding but Sigma Chi is planning their return and I believe that Beta Theta Pi is as well.

Rogers county is named for Will Rogers' father, Clement Rogers, who was one of the first lawmakers of Indian Territory and later the state of Oklahoma. Rogers State University is named for Will Rogers, who left the land to the state upon his death. He and his wife had purchased property in Rogers County for their retirement, but they never actually used it. They are both buried at the Will Rogers Museum and Memorial in Claremore, which is right across the street from RSU. (And actually Will was born in a town right next to Claremore, called Oologah - even smaller than Claremore.)

I only know all of that because my son had a field trip there in May and I went along.

Claremore is about 40 minutes north of Tulsa (on the Will Rogers Turnpike). RSU was just made into a 4-year college a few years ago. Before that it was a community college, but it has grown a lot the past couple of years.

No, that honor went to AST but with ASA's arrival a new Collegiate Panhellenic can be formed!
