EL DORADO, Kan. The Kansas parents who failed to report their 11-year-old adopted son missing nearly a decade ago are "people of interest" as authorities search for him nationwide, a sheriff said Monday.
Investigators only recently learned Adam Herrman was missing and are focused on finding him, Butler County Sheriff Craig Murphy said. Adam was 11 when he disappeared in 1999 from a mobile home park in Towanda where he lived.
Authorities would not say whether they believed Adam, who would now be 21, is alive. "We are working it as if it is a death but we are not leaning one way or the other," Murphy said.

This is not uncommon.
Especially if the kid is from a trailer park.

Yes. It's a generalization. When I'm saying something is statistically pretty common, that's a generalization.
Just for the record, how many national stories about missing persons originated with kids missing from poor/minority families?
Can you even think of a single missing person story about a black child which made national news? You'd think black kids never went missing.

Not exactly a children's case but more along Kevin's line of example:
Latoya Figueroa vs Natalee Holloway and the lack of coverage that Figueroa received.

Actually that's why I said that.
I just don't understand what is wrong with people these days. Were these kinds of things happening back then but just weren't broadcast? This is so sad.
