Rushing as a junior
I go to UGA and was wondering if anyone knew what it's like to rush as a junior? Like do I have a chance? Also my GPA is kinda low ATM due to a ruff semester.
Anyone know anything

Your chances are very poor based on your year in school and your low GPA. Go through the process, but don't expect a bid.

I had thought that Georgia still has an upperclass quota.

UGA does have an upperclassman quota. Upperclassman quota was 8 last year.

They do but with a low GPA she's not in a good position to do well. Upperclassmen have to have good grades.

How low is your GPA? That could make a huge difference.

I rushed as a junior at Oklahoma City University and became a sister of Alpha Chi Omega in the 90s. It's a small private school but i had no problems. My gpa was in the 3. area though

Oklahoma City University is in a whole different universe, in terms of NPC rush, from the University of Georgia. UGA is one of the most competitive schools in the SEC for recruitment. The two are not comparable.

Aside from this, the 90s are light-years away as far as NPC recruitment goes. I'm willing to bet things are even drastically different between the recruitment system at Oklahoma City University in 1999 and their system in 2013.

^^^ VERY true!!
Oklahoma City University = 3 NPC chapters, about 2200 students
UGA = 17 NPC chapters, has about 34,000 students
(I was just curious about the difference in size)

Unless your GPA is 3.5 or better, even with upperclass quota you face an uphill battle. As a junior a UGA, you will need fabulous letters of rec to every chapter, a stellar extracurricular resume and a high GPA.

Doesn't the upper class quota usually favor sophomores anyway?
