The University of Central Oklahoma has opened for expansion.

In other news: Zeta Psi has been "de-recognized" by the University of Virginia for RMF. (Do not know if their national will continue to recognize them.)

Sigma Tau Gamma has been closed at Western Illinois University due to RMF. http://www.wiu.edu/student_services/...ing%202011.pdf

Delta Phi Epsilon has already colonized and chartered Caldwell College.

I thought the Kappa Alpha Theta, Alpha Sigma Alpha & Alpha Chi Omega had already occurred.

ASA expansion at UVU has been postponed as far as I'm aware. I was supposed to attend and it got postponed do an undetermined date. They have not completely cancelled as far as I'm aware.

I have not read the entire thread so advance apologies if this is duplicate infornmation.

Beta Theta Pi has been disbanded at MIT; risk management and low numbers are cited as some of the reasons. A return in 2013 is expected / planned; see:

http://tech.mit.edu/V131/N29/beta.html

Excerpt from much longer article (see link above ^):

NIKITA A. KHLYSTOV

July 6, 2011
Beta Theta Pi (Beta) has been disbanded, a decision that was made by its local alumni association, advisory board, and the national organization. Members were notified of the decision on June 5 and were asked to move out of their house within five days.

According to Michael G. Feinstein ’82, president of the Beta alumni association, the decision to shut the fraternity down was based on two main reasons: low numbers and recent sanctions.

. . . The MIT Interfraternity Council (IFC) put Beta under social probation, imposed heavy fines, and imposed rush restrictions after an alcohol violation during rush last fall.

“We’ve had a series of risk management incidents over the last few years, and we felt that in this environment — where we didn’t have enough people — there was a risk of another incident happening,” Feinstein said.
According to Feinstein, any additional incident would have resulted in the IFC kicking Beta off the campus for a long period of time. “We wanted to have a smoother landing rather than a crash landing, so we decided to act and put ourselves up in place for a well-organized fresh start in a few years,” Feinstein said. . . . .

According to Senior Associate Dean of Residential Life and Dining Henry J. Humphreys, the Beta house was vandalized a few days after the brothers moved out of the house. Detective Sergeant Craig Martin of the MIT Police is conducting an investigation of the situation. Martin could not be reached as of 7 p.m. Yesterday. . . .

Beta will begin with a fresh start in fall 2013. Unlike fraternities that are under suspension or have been expelled by the IFC, Beta will not have to reapply to become a fraternity at MIT. . . .

Beta alumni are planning on recruiting a founding house of freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors all at one time when they return to MIT in 2013.

Any word on if ZTA will be applying since it would be a recolonization for us? We're already colonizing at Berkeley...

Since Non-NPCs were listed on the start of the thread, I thought I'd chime in celebrate SAIs newest chapters.

We started the year with 8 colonies. 7 were installed before the close of the academic year and 1 colony remains at the University of North Alabama.

-University of Massachusetts at Amherst
-North Carolina Central University (I attended this initiation/installation)
-Grand Valley State University
-Miami University, Ohio
-Hampton University
-Florida Atlantic University
-Virginia State University

And, our grand total of active chapters is 341.
