LOL. Maybe.

Sex Ed 101 tells us conception is not always a result of frequent pleasurable sex.

But the Michelle can't say in her best baby voice "and I delivered everyone of them"

I don't see her as loving children or motherhood. She loves getting and being pregnant and the first year of cute baby fun before it's off to their sister buddy to raise them so Michelle can get knocked up and repeat the cycle.

I can't imagine any fertility doctor would offer medical intervention I've her long complicated high risk pregnancy history.

The criticism is that the older four girls do all of the parenting and most of the housework.

Because their mother and father are addicted to pregnancy:

http://www.express.co.uk/life-style/...aving-children

As is often the case with religious people, the Duggars are crediting a higher power for their antics.

They are risking lives at this point (even more than pregnancy and childbirth already risk lives) and this addiction-driven attention whoring is disgusting and selfish.

They are attempting to out-produce my great grandfather. He was married 3 times and had 8 children with each wife. Somehow my grandfather was the forgotten apple. Until people started doing genealogy my grandfather was an unknown. He was not "found" until my mother started doing the research. The descendents of the other 23 were surprised to find out that our branch existed.

How could they forget about your grandfather?

It would be even more news worthy if your great-grandmother was the one who had 24 children. Holy prolapsed uterus, Batman!

The dad in that story DrPhil posted looks absolutely miserable.

All I can say is, babies and the desire to produce them make people bat shit crazy even if they were previously normal and I don't know why doctors can't have them declared so. BAT. SHIT. CRAZY.

Why is it okay for them to seek medical intervention to help them have a child when it's not okay for them to use any form of birth control? If they really believe God is giving them the gift of children, why are they "interfering" with this belief by going to a fertility specialist?

They are religious zealots and religious hypocrites who use God as an excuse for their decisions.

I wouldn't care about any of this if the Duggars didn't have a reality show and didn't join the other religion-politics-brigade to negatively impact the reproductive rights/freedoms/choices of the general population, women in particular.

This is a great way of putting it. The semi-burnout shop class guy who had the locker next to mine all through high school is now Quiverfull and has 12 or 13 kids, I don't remember him being particularly religious, either. Now, however, he is all over Facebook with his biblical exhortations and he has all the wit and charm of Cotton Mather. I'd unfriend him, but I'm from a really small town where we all know each other and it would be rude, and frankly, he's too entertaining. I often wonder what he thinks of my life, with my advanced degrees, career, and no kids when his religion keeps women in the kitchen and pregnant, but so far he hasn't dared to venture an opinion on that since I'm sure he knows I'd have a comeback for him.

I have often wondered this myself. Why is it "God's will" when you accidentally get pregnant, but not "God's will" when you can't? People will rationalize any damn way they want to act by blaming or crediting God for their actions, just as Dr. Phil said.

Ding ding ding! This is exactly what I was thinking. They don't believe in birth control or abortions, and they preach that everything should be "natural"... and yet, they're going to a fertility doctor to try and have more kids that they don't need and potentially can't have.

If God plays as big of a role in all of this as they say he does, then this should be their big red flag from above telling them to stop.

Michelle is definitely bat shit about a lot especially babies. But Jim Bob is equally twisted, I think he gets off on knowing he spawned 19 kids, that he's such a big powerful bang chest gorilla because he can get his wife pregnant. It actually squicks me out more than Michelle.

Also, I hate how inefficient and wasteful they are. People think they're amazing because because they don't get government aid. But they're terrible. They use paper products for plates and silverware, when they have a commercial dishwasher.

They also feed their kids nothing but processed crap. You never see fruits and veggies. Or anything healthy. With the number of hands they have they should have an amazing garden and chickens and everything.

They may very well be addicted to pregnancy, but I think it may be even simpler than that - JimBob wants sex. I thought their religion prohibits him from any kind of... release, if you will, aside from attempted procreation.
