awww, thanks winter for linking my Theta retro story! What a surprise! I can't believe that happened over 25 years ago and I wrote it over 11 years ago. Fun reading back through.

I, for one, was dying to find out what the deal with “Cowgirl Callie” was.
Count me among them! I agree with your analysis - but I needed to know the details of a wrap up!

And thank you for including my own Rush Thread!

3. Round 1 supposedly took like 4 days. Weird.
I must have missed that one.

It's not unusual to have locals participate in NPC FR. My local did so for one year. We just had to agree to the same rules NPC chapter members had to obey, e.g. no contact outside parties. By the following year, we'd affiliated with AEPhi.

Round 1 taking 4 days is not something I've ever heard of. As I recall, even at campuses where most NPC GLOs are represented (I'm thinking IU), first round is spread out over maybe 3 days?

As for the margaritas, unless they're virgin margaritas, HUGE infraction. And a virgin margarita would be what - limeade and margarita mix? I'd rather have just limeade, or water.

It wasn’t the locals part, it was that the numbers didn’t add up. No one could think of a campus with as many NPC groups that she said there were, with the number of locals there. Same with the days of rounds.

ETA: when she first mentioned that, there were 13 nationals and one local. Then I said I couldn’t think of any school with those numbers and she said “oh there’s more than one local, I just didn’t point that out.” It made no sense.

What a truly wonderful story. I rushed just 8 years later at the University of Tennessee. It really was a 180 degree difference. We, at that time, had suites in the Panhellenic building. I don't know that anyone had recs. I certainly didn't. I received a bid to my first choice and was so happy during my college years.

I have enjoyed reading these stories....mine was kinda boring!
