I don't want to start a brawl or anything, but are rap concerts actually good? All the ones I've seen have been terrible, but then again I don't enjoy rap that much in the first place. It just seems like a lot of album stuff would be harder to replicate well in a live setting (and this is the case in my personal experience).
Though, Outkast was good live, but its Outkast, I tend to think they probably out-artist the majority of rappers.

Well, I got to see Run-DMC, and for free no less. I loved it, but then most of the songs I knew by heart anyway. Run-DMC pretty much just had rythym tracks for their songs, and Jay would scratch and stuff.

I went to an Aerosmith/Motley Crue concert with my daughter this Nov.
Before that, back in the day:
Blue Oyster Cult
Styx
Heart
REO Speedwagon
Chicago
Foghat
. . . I don't really like concerts, truth be told.

I've been going to concerts for close to 30 years. I can't even name how many/who I've seen...ranging from the (original) Village People to Elton John to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
This Sunday, we're going to see Morrissey (my first time seeing him). And in June, we're going to see The Police (I last saw them in 1983).

I'm seeing The Roots tomorrow!
But here's a small list from my past, but it is in no way complete, and yes it is completely laughable.
Kenny Rogers
Naughty By Nature
Guns n Roses
The Jets
Blues Travelers
Reel Big Fish
Destiny's Child (when there were four members!)
Bon Jovi
Violent Femmes
Candle Box

oh, so many... a lot are emo punk groups, but there are some less-mainstream hip hop groups, some classic rock, and some pop thrown in for fun
The Ataris
Atmosphere
Brand New
Brother Ali
BB King
Ray Charles
Dave Matthews Band (Under the Table and Dreaming tour, before they were "Dave")
Dashboard Confessional
Bob Dylan
Finch
Fall Out Boy
Flogging Molly
The Getup Kids
Goldfinger
Good Charlotte
Immortal Technique
The Juliana Theory
Jonny Lang
Lucky Boy's Confusion
Matchbook Romance
Matchbox 20
Motion City Soundtrack
MXPX
New Found Glory
*NSYNC (I'll admit it)
Reel Big Fish
The Roots
Sage Francis
Saves The Day
Paul Simon
Something Corporate
The Starting Line
SUM 41
Taking Back Sunday
Susan Tedeschi
Weezer
Wyclef
many of these folks I've seen more than once, I'm sure there are some I've forgotten to list, and then there are those that I can't remember if I've seen live or not- like The All American Rejects and NOFX and the Bouncing Souls...
I'm seriously debating going to Lollapalooza for the first time this summer. I would LOVE to see Pearl Jam and a few of the groups on the bill I've seen before and really enjoyed... but $200 for a concert (even if it's 3 days) seems SOOOO EXPENSIVE!

Some of these bands are a little obscure, but someone may know of them. Though I won't bother listing how many times I've seen some of them, I will admit I saw my favorite band 18 times before they broke up.
Dave Matthews Band
John Mayer
Guster
Jump, Little Children
Slow Runner
Sufjan Stevens (I was front row. It was amazing..)
Andrew Bird
Ted Leo & The Pharmacists
Modern Skirts
David Mead
Weezer
The Killers
Maroon 5
Jason Mraz
Ben Folds
Bain Mattox
Tin Cup Prophete
Aerosmith
Chicago
The Doobie Brothers
The Brilliant Inventions
Common Rotation
David Ryan Harris
Butch Walker
Lit
Live
Paul Simon
I'm also going to Bonnaroo for the first time in about a week. To say I'm excited would be an understatement...
