What type of bid day does your school do?
For example, for Formal Recruitment, my school had us all in a big ballroom where our new members came through a curtain and were welcomed by the members of their sorority with things like balloons, t-shirts, etc.
Other schools do what I can only think of as "Running of the Bulls" in Pamplona - the new members get their bid in an auditorium, open it, and run screaming to the house where the members are waiting.
Still other schools present new members with bids at their dorm rooms or apartments, then invite them to the house/suite/gathering location with cake, balloons, t-shirts, whatnot (this is what happened with me since I joined through informal recruitment).
Plus the 8000 other ways New Members are presented with and/or accept bids.
What's the context?
ETA: Also, what does "fan" mean? Are you a member of a colony? Which one (might be able to give us contextual clues based on your school)? Are you a member of an interest group? What are other chapters doing on your campus?
