DU Badges.

1. Opals, old with Old Type Clasp. Worth it.

2. Beautifal Badge, they got a steal.

I collect Badges, and yes many do.

I collect LXA and TKN.

I do have a very nice APO as I never had one when I was in school and a Member.

But, I do have all of the Badges from the Fraternitys that were there (5) when I founded the local (1965), + one who presented to us and one who was going against us to be on campus.

I do want to get all of the Sororitys who were there at that time also. Have one and looking for 3 more.

Some may think I am nuts, but I want to have them placed so as to show the History as it were.

Yes, I have seen websites of Greek badge (pin) collectors. But I would ask a question: in your organizations, do you "own" your badge (pin). Legally speaking, in Omega Psi Phi, the Fraternity has the title to all badges, and the fee paid is a "rental" fee, even though not much has been made of recovery of badges from E Bay or some other outfit. (I've seen our badges on E Bay also.)This is a matter of some consternation to some members. The fault lies not with the purchaser but with the brother who didn't make know the proper disposition of the badge at his death or some family member innocently put these things up for sale who don't know the sentimental value and ownership issues involved here.

Que Psi Phi 'til teh day I die!"

Sigma Kappa owns all of our pins & the fee we pay is like a rental fee. After we die our pins either go back to HQ or are buried with us.

I was just about to ask that question... I think my grandfather wants to be burried with his pin, but what happens if it is bequeathed to a family member? Is the family obligated to return it to headquarters? I suppose this bequeathing is what leads to a lot of pins ending up on Ebay because the family doesn't understand the significance/ownership of said pin. How many of you have instructions written into your will about your pin?

LXA So Designated in the General Convention of 2005 that they would be considered as property of The Frarternity. I know, I was There and a Delegate.

But, they also said and voted on that No Money would be spent to purchase them. Catch 22!

So I and a few others watch for them. It does get expensive.

Yes, I have some very expensive LXA Badges.

But, remember, there are a Few Collectors who Admire Badges as each of us Admire our Own.

They as Badges are very Beautiful and special!

I gave the reason I wanted certain Badges, I do not call them Pins, as Pledge Pins compared to Active Badges.
