No, we always had the black ones. The Chi-Os had the deep red ones and they looked really nice.

On my campus, Chi Omega used royal blue drapes for many years. My senior year (after MUCH discussion and voting on drapes, sweaters, white shirts, etc.) we made the big switch to a cranberry color. When the photographer arrived, the drapes were the under-your-arms variety -- he said, to look like a strapless formal gown. Some of us looked like we were in towel wraps and some looked completely naked.

National Kappa Delta posted this photo on its FB and I wanted to share it here. It's fabulous and it has women from Pi Beta Phi and Delta Delta Delta in it. It's Derby Days at University of California Berkeley in 1925.

Oh my gosh, they ARE men! I was admiring the bloomers on the one seated on the bottom left. Too funny!

One of the slogans sororities used during Derby Days was "If XY's were guys, they'd be Sigma Chis." But this is going a little far. LOL

...The 1972 plaid, patchwork pantsuit. Oh my. But the girl wearing it carries it off quite well.

My favorite is the black and yellow suit w/ matching scarf, from 1972. At least you can tell from her badge that she's an initiated member, because I'd hate to think a new member would have had that ensemble ready to go for Bid Day (although, I guess the girl next to her did).

It actually looks like they might be shorts…
I agree, though, that she pulls it off well. I don't think we'll see anyone in any of the pictures nowadays wearing one, though.
